MEET Jordan
Friedman, mph
Jordan Friedman knows a thing or two about stress reduction. He is a nationally recognized stress management and health promotion speaker and consultant with a record breaking stress-to-success story.
Jordan's career likely started in the 5th grade when he was diagnosed with one of the largest brain tumors ever discovered. After brain surgeries, years of extreme vision loss, and pretending to be "normal," he went on to become a public health expert who now uses his experiences to motivate others to deal productively with life's challenges, changes and crises. Jordan's unique emphasis on teaching stress prevention and preparedness skills means that all of his audiences learn new ways to avoid anxiety, calm down quickly, seek quality support and sleep more soundly.
Jordan's PBS-meets-MTV talks, training and books have reduced stress for thousands including Harvard students, NYPD officers, Wall Street bankers and even Fort Dix Federal Prison inmates. He is the author of The Stress Manager’s Manual, and you may already know Jordan as a voice of 'Alice,' the first online source of straight-forward answers to stress, sex and other wellness questions on Columbia University’s acclaimed Go Ask Alice website. As longtime director of Columbia’s health education program, Jordan penned hundreds of Internet and newspaper columns on everything from muscular relaxation to bedtime communication, and co-authored the popular Go Ask Alice Book Of Answers.
Jordan's dedication to sustained stress reduction also drives his Stressbusters program, a continuous wellness outreach magnet that is now reducing stress on college campuses nationwide including at Harvard, St. John's and Washington University in St. Louis. Additionally, Jordan works with a variety of institutional and business clients to manage, enhance and market their health promotion efforts.
Jordan studied stress management education
at the University of Maryland, followed by a degree in public health from New York University. When Jordan's not on the road, he lives, works and manages his own stress in New York City.
